Enjoy a scenic hike along the Appalachian Trail to Bear’s Den Overlook, where rocky outcroppings offer sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley. The hike is relatively short but includes rocky, uneven terrain, so comfortable sneakers with good traction or hiking shoes are recommended. Afterward, we’ll head to nearby Bluemont Vineyard for a relaxed lunch overlooking Virginia wine country.

We’ll hike a section of the Appalachian Trail out to Bear’s Den Overlook, where rocky outcroppings open onto sweeping views of the Shenandoah Valley. The distance is short, but the trail is rocky and uneven in places.
Please wear sneakers with good traction or proper hiking shoes. This is a rockier walk than a flat park path, so sturdy footwear matters here.
Afterward we head a few minutes down the road to Bluemont Vineyard for a relaxed lunch overlooking Virginia wine country.
We hike rain or shine, so pack a light rain jacket if the forecast turns. The trail suits a range of fitness levels.
