QED Lead:

Alejandro Celis is a builder who has spent his career at the intersection of engineering, finance, and commerce. He trained as a mechanical and mechatronics engineer at Concordia University in Montreal before starting out in finance, first managing third-party portfolios and then working in M&A at Bancolombia's investment bank.

That mix of technical and financial depth pulled him into entrepreneurship. He co-founded Estuyo, an e-commerce that became the second largest fashion retailer by online sales in Colombia, going from zero to 350,000 dollars in monthly revenue in less than five months. There he served as CTO and lived through the operational ceiling of e-commerce firsthand. He later sharpened the data side with a Master's in Business Analytics from NYU.

In 2021 he co-founded Melonn, the fulfillment platform that lets Latin American brands scale without breaking, where today he leads customer acquisition across Colombia and Mexico. A Colombian-Canadian based in Medellin, he also sits on several company boards and remains, at heart, an operator who is equally comfortable with a data model and a go-to-market plan.

Fun Facts

• I once knocked out for 14 hours straight on a flight to China. Coach, middle seat, no pills.
