Barbaros Özbugutu brings twenty years in payments and fintech. In 2013 he co-founded iyzico and led it as CEO through its acquisition by Naspers/PayU, growing the platform to 100,000+ merchants including Amazon, Nike, and Zara. He served as Chairman through 2023. Earlier, he was VP Sales Germany at Klarna and held leadership roles at First Data and TeleCash. He is also a Founding Partner at DeBa Group, managing the family's investments, and a board member at Endeavor Turkey, the network that helped scale iyzico.
He is now Co-Founder of Donnerstag.ai, building the AI backbone of enterprise finance. ERPs were meant to be that backbone, but they leave core financial work — reconciliation, dunning, cash management — unbuilt, forcing finance teams to fill the gaps with people, spreadsheets, and month-end closes that drag on for weeks.
