Björn Goß is the founder and CEO of Skalar, a Munich-based AI-native tax and accounting firm he launched in 2025 together with tax advisor Florian Lang and co-founders Niklas Wagener, Martin Gugel, and Christian Pötter.

Before Skalar, Björn founded and served as CEO of Stocard, a mobile loyalty-card app. He sold Stocard to Klarna in a deal worth roughly €110 million. Following the acquisition, he interned at several tax advisory firms to understand the industry's core challenges firsthand, concluding that simply layering AI onto legacy software wasn't enough — a firm needed to be built around AI from the ground up. This insight became the founding thesis for Skalar, which rebuilds the tax and accounting stack from scratch, with AI agents handling recurring bookkeeping, payroll, and tax tasks alongside human experts. Skalar has raised €12 million in early-stage funding led by Headline.

Before Stocard, Björn worked at McKinsey & Company and discontinued his PhD studies to pursue the startup. He holds a master's degree from the London School of Economics and a bachelor's degree from the University of Mannheim.
